Suncatchers are small simple pieces about 6" tall or in diameter. A panel is a more complex piece and generally are designed individually. Milbrose will ask for photos of your dogs, what design elements you are looking for... what type of background you prefer... do your dogs wear collars or have a special toy or anything that you would like to have included. Remember that unlike a painting, glass can only give so much in fine detail so what is looked for are elements that show YOUR dog and how he or she carries him or herself. Don't worry about knowing exactly what you want, Stephanie can help with that.
Pricing is based on size and piece count. Thus a smaller but more complex piece of glass may cost as much as a larger but simpler piece. Generally the average price is about $180 - $240 for an average size piece with average complexity. Milbrose will provide a quote based upon the work you commission. If you are working within a budget, Stephanie can work with that.
Shipping varies per distance and size of the piece. This can run typically $50 - $90. Each finished work is securely packaged and insured because of the nature of the work. When the work is finished, you will receive an exact shipping quote. Sporting Artisans does not add prices to shipping - it is only what Milbrose charges.
Start to finish is approximately 4-6 weeks.
To begin design work, a non-refundable $25 deposit is required, which is credited to the final cost of the work once the final design is completed. To begin work on the panel Milbrose asks for half down as a deposit.
Stephanie at Milbrose GlassWorks custom designs and creates beautiful stained and fused glass work. Though most of her work to date has been Flat Coated and Golden Retrievers, she can do any breed upon request.
