TJ Klay to Attend 2nd Annual Shoot for a Cure - 04/08/2008
Iowa’s native son from Hull, Iowa, Nashville recording artist and sporting clays enthusiast TJ Klay will be in Waukee, Iowa June 20th & 21st, 2008 in support of the 2nd Annual Iowa Health-Des Moines ~ Boyt Harness/Bob Allen Shoot for a Cure benefiting Cystic Fibrosis.
TJ attends and performs at many celebrity shooting and hunting events and helps raise tens of thousands of dollars each year for organizations and charities such as: Quail Unlimited, Boy Scouts of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Waterfowl USA, Wish Upon a star and others. As a Nashville Singer/Songwriter and 22-year Hohner Harmonica Artist, TJ Klay was an original member of the country band “Western Flyer”. His harmonica, mandolin, guitar and harmony vocals graced the group’s two CDs and helped garn them four hit singles and three CMT videos. They performed for the Kansas City Royals, the Martin Luther King Foundation and President Clinton.
TJ performs solo and with a trio at venues and shooting events across the country and currently is a member of the Pro-Staff for HIViz sight systems, and is a Browning Shotgun ambassador. With his publishing company, Sporting Klay’s Music, he has released four solo CDs, wrote and produced “The Grand American” CD for the ATA’s Grand American Trapshooting Championship, the “San Antonio in September” CD for the NSCA’s Sporting Clays Nationals and the “Shoot for the Moon” CD for USA Shooting. The song was featured in their video promotion for the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.
