This wild bottomed hardwood is filled with old oxbow lakes where the Pascagoula River wandered over the years. It is truly a natural system managed more by nature than man. This particular swamp was an extremely loud place with kingfishers, cicada, frogs and herons. The Pastagoula has a great story of being saved.
