Speckled trout is the most sought after saltwater sportfish on the Texas coast although some would argue the redfish (or red drum) would claim that title. Most bay fisherman in Texas will fish for both and are apt to catch either one on the same bait in some areas. But whether you are a bait fisherman or stick strictly to artificials, the speckled trout is fun to catch especially when you get over that 20-inch mark.
