Bowen Lodge
Whether you have a desire to fish walleye, hunt Ruffed Grouse, or just take the family for a splendid vacation to enjoy the great outdoors, Bowen Lodge is a place that should be at the top of your list. The cabins are first rate, and the lodge rests by Lake Winnibigoshish.
Picture yourself on a Northern Minnesota Fishing lake with hundreds of miles of pristine shoreline, an endless sky of dazzling stars, a comfortable cabin nestled in the majestic Northwoods. The only morning alarm is the call of the loon and your own eagerness to hit the water! That's what you'll experience at Bowen Lodge on Lakes Winnibigoshish and Cutfoot Sioux, known here in Deer River as "Big Winnie" and "Cutfoot".
It’s a time for your family. The kids, the grandparents, for friends old and new. A time to explore a special Minnesota vacationland; A land of fishing, swimming, canoeing and walleye shore lunches.
Bowen Lodge opened as a Walleye and Pike fishing camp on Lake Winnie and Cutfoot Sioux in 1930 by Herb and Jessie Bowen. Since its humble beginnings, the resort has seen many years of improvements in comfort and accessibility.
Bowen's has become an established fishing and family resort destination for generations of people. Although now a modern and comfortable resort, we still maintain an atmosphere of Minnesota wilderness, complete with blue-ribbon fishing opportunities. Throughout the years, many have known us as their one and only Lake Winnibigosh and Cutfoot Sioux get-away in the Northland.
