Sporting Artisans policy
The objective of Sporting Artisans.com is to sell original and limited edition works of art and merchandise. The Sporting Artisans policy follows:
Privacy
No customer or visitor information will be provided by Sporting Artisans to a third party.
Mailing and E-mail Addresses
This information is private. In Google checkout, you can request or decline to receive special offers through e-mail marketing. We only send you information if you elect to receive it. Your e-mail address is not provided to any third party. The only exception is that we may provide your contact information to the artist from which you are requesting a product.
Product Availability
Most of the artwork and merchandise of the site is made to order, or may be custom made for you by the artist. Most of the artwork, carvings and sculptures regularly are exhibited for display or sale at art events throughout the year. Therefore, some of the works on the site may be sold or are in the process of being sold independently by the artist. Sporting Artisans attempts to keep up to date on available works, but cannot always guarantee their availability.
Even if an original work or limited edition sculpture or carving is sold out, in most cases, you may commission the artist to create a custom work similar to what you see on the site. Some works in fact are on the site specifically for that purpose – such as commissioned portraits.
Product descriptions
You may request more descriptions and images of original works, and Sporting Artisans will often put you in touch directly with the artist so that you may ask more questions of them about the piece.
Special Note about African Game Industry Products:
African Game Industry products may not be purchased for export outside the United States, without official documentation and approval from the US Fish and Wildlife Service. This documentation can be provided upon request and there is a fee to the US Fish and Wildlife Service for this.
Shipping and Handling
Any order over $250 will be sent Fed Ex or UPS and will require a direct signature upon delivery.
Original Art Almost all of the original works by artists are shipped to you directly from the artists. Keep in mind that sometimes, if for example, the artist is at a show, he/she may not be able to send your work until arriving back in the studio. However, each artist makes an attempt to get the work to you as quickly and as safely as possible. Sporting Artisans does not add any cost to the artist’s shipping and handling. You will receive a quote for shipping and handling before any original art is sent to you.
Custom or Made-To-Order Merchandise
Some merchandise, such as the custom Royden/DePaolis belts, are made to order. With a product like this, if not in stock, the artist ships their product to another for final completion, and then it comes to Sporting Artisans, which then goes to you. For custom or made-to order products, please allow at least 7-10 days for receipt of the merchandise.
Delivery Times
Artists will usually be able to mail original or limited edition works within a couple days of your order. Keep in mind that they may be attending shows or events, so please allow a couple extra days in some cases for shipment.
Most custom or made-to-order merchandise ships within 7-10 days.
Usually merchandise ships the same or next day of your order. If not, we will notify you. Some items can be shipped 2-day express, and for some items you may request overnight by calling 231-922-2292.
Higher-value items will be shipped Federal Express or UPS and your direct signature will be required for delivery.
Payment Options
Sporting Artisans takes all major credit cards.
Sporting Artisans accepts personal checks, but will not send merchandise or art until the check clears the bank.
In most cases, we will not charge a credit card until the product is ready to ship. For products over $250, there is a holdover policy in which the card is charged 24-72 hours before product is shipped. In some cases, extra checks on a credit card might be made to ensure the card is valid and to prevent fraud. For products over $250, a direct signature will be required to receive the shipment.
No cards will be accepted outside the United States.
If you elect to pay by check, items will not be shipped until the check clears the bank.
Google checkout and credit card safety
Sporting Artisans uses Google checkout, which allows you to quickly and safely purchase items with a simple user name and password.
All credit card transactions are secure and are verified by Authorize.net.
Commissions
You may commission most artists on the site to create an original work for you. Commissions require a 33% non-refundable downpayment. This downpayment goes to the artist. Sporting Artisans does not receive a percentage of the sale until it is finished and you are happy with it., and Sporting Artisans does not add any cost to the price of the commissioned work.
Original Art Prices
Sporting Artisans receives a commission on each sale of original or limited edition art, but does not add any cost to any of the original or commissioned works on the site. The price of the art is what the artist would charge to you directly.
For original artwork over $1000, you may request a credit of 10% of the purchase price to be used for any other merchandise or art at anytime at Sporting Artisans. Some art or products for example, offer other merchandise at no charge. These are specified within the product description where applicable.
Prices are subject to change without notice. Prices sometimes are changed by the artist without notifying Sporting Artisans. If there is a price discrepancy because the artist changed the price or because of an error, there is no guarantee that Sporting Artisans can hold to that price. This is a rare example however.
Refunds and returns
Commissioned Works
A 33% non-refundable deposit is required for commissions and this goes entirely to the artist. If you are not satisfied with the final piece, you are not charged the balance. In some case, an artist may have a different criteria for commissions, and if so, you will be notified of this ahead of time.
Original artwork
Original art may be returned within 15 days of receipt. You are responsible for shipping the art back to the artist, the cost of shipping the art and insuring it at the full retail price.
Custom Merchandise
Customized merchandise, such as embossed or engraved items, cannot be returned.
Merchandise
All other non-custom merchandise may be returned for a full refund within 30 days. No product will be replaced until the product you've purchased has been returned to Sporting Artisans or to the artist. You are encouraged to keep a copy of the tracking number, should the item get lost in transit. If an item is lost via shipping, it will not be reimbursed unless there is a tracking number and the shipper fails to find it. Sporting Artisans does not pay for your shipment of the replacement back to us, but we do not charge for shipping a replacement item back to you.
An item must be in original condition, and unused to qualify for a full reimbursement.
Order Cancellation
You may cancel an order by calling 231-922-2292 or e-mailing info@SportingArtisans.com. For commissioned works, if that work has started, you may cancel, but cannot receive your downpayment, unless the artist makes specific arrangements with you.
Tracking orders
We’ll do everything we can to keep you up to date on most orders, including supplying tracking order numbers upon your request. We will notify you as to when the art or product will ship, and date of arrival.
Gift Certificates
You may request a custom gift certificate for any of the art or merchandise on SportingArtisans.com
Repair or Replacement
Regarding original art, the artist is responsible for repair or replacement, and Sporting Artisans will help facilitate that for you. Sporting Artisans will not charge for any repairs of course, but the repair costs are up to the artist’s discretion.
If there is a defect in any custom, made-to-order, or regular merchandise, Sporting Artisans will replace it or refund 100% of the purchase and shipping price.
International Orders
Currently, Sporting Artisans does not ship to other countries outside the USA. Most international customers ask the products to be shipped to locations within the USA, and most of the time, we can do this. |
